Abstract:
In this article is told about the purchase by Peruvian government in the United States of the monitors «Manco Cápac» (USS «Oneota») and «Atahualpa» (USS «Katawba»). The details of the passage of these ships from the port of building to the place of new basing are described. The march of low-board ships around South America, was extremely difficult and dangerous. The article is given the basic stages of the service of monitors in the Peruvian fleet.
